About the Bichon Frise:

Bichons are extremely delightful and playful little “fur people”. They are always white and should have black eyes, nose and mouth. They should have dark “haloes” around their eyes which contributes to their distinctive faces. Ideally, the outside corners of the eyes and the tip of the nose should form an equilateral triangle. The pads on their feet should be black. The tail is fluffy and should be carried over their back in a jaunty fashion. Puppies will frequently have some color on their ears. This is usually all white by the time they have their mature coat. However, Bichons are allowed to have 10% color in the show ring.

Size:

According to the Standard written by the Bichon Frise Club of America the Bichon should be between 9 ½ and 11 ½ inches at the withers (shoulders). They vary in weight from approximately 10 to 16 pounds, however, like people, they can become overweight. Since they eat enthusiastically it is easy to overfeed them in the mistaken belief that they are still hungry. Being overweight can cause the same problems in Bichons that it causes in humans so it is best to measure their food.
